Strength in Unity
The Order of Dionysus is willing to work with other organizations or entities for further community outreach.
We have partnered with organizations such as:
-Elijah's Closet - Supporting foster families
-City of Biloxi - 12th night celebration - providing free food and handouts for attendees.
-Biloxi Main Street - Boo-on-the-Rue
-The Trident Foundation - Krewe of Neptune's community outreach.
Our organization emphasizes inclusivity, fostering connections and collaborations within the LGBT community. We champion events that promote acceptance and celebration of diversity.
Scholarship
The Order of Dionysus provides up to 2 scholarships annually, currently at $250 each.
Each scholarship applicant is to provide a 1-page essay about a teacher / instructor that has had an impact on their academic career, along with filling out the scholarship form in its entirety.
Upon receiving the scholarship from the Order of Dionysus, the teacher / instructor that has had an impact on your academic career will also receive an award of equal value to use at their discretion.
Scholarship Applications open during the Spring Semester of the school year, and the cut-off dates vary upon Graduation Dates, Last day of school, etc.
These forms are usually sent directly to a local Highs School within the area, and must be turned into the school counselor in a sealed envelope.
Membership
Membership opens in April and closes at our October meeting.
Our meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of every month unless otherwise stated via email or on our Facebook Membership page.
Dues are $100.00, include access to every meeting, and our Facebook membership page.
In the event you volunteer to work an event, at a designated station, the event entry fee may be waived.
Our membership is comprised of the Executive Board along with the general membership.
To become a board member, you must be a two (2) year member, and the general membership will vote at the necessary meeting.
History
The Order of Dionysus formed in 2017 with the goal of being an all-inclusive krewe. Whereas some krewes or organizations are limited to males or females only, the Order of Dionysus is open to both males and females, regardless of sexual orientation or identity.
In addition, we support various events or organizations throughout the year with either monetary donations or by participating in their events.
Organizations or Entities we have worked with include the Gulf Coast Association of Pride, Elijah’s Closet, The Trident Foundation, SIPPS, Just Us Lounge, and the City of Biloxi. The Order of Dionysus strives to be involved with local events and looking for ways to have a positive impact on our area.
The Order of Dionysus has worked with the City of Biloxi, by providing updates to the Mardi Gras crown displayed on City Hall during carnival season.
